Topic: The Barbie Doll's Clothes

Because I am having a daughter, she had her Barbie doll too. One thing I noticed while inspecting the toy is its clothing. The doll is wearing a dress with glitters. Her aunt bought that doll. The newest one who was wearing a dress with glitters. I refused to give her the doll when we are already home. I took off the new dolls clothes and replaced it with the old one's clothes. Then I immediately throw the dress. It is harmful to the child's eyes, I heard a short story when I was a child that glitters can cause blindness. The story goes like this, one time there was a child who accidentally put glitters on the eye, then after a few days they noticed that the child suffered from eye disease which caused by the glitters according to the doctor. Whether it is truth or not, I come from the "safety first" for my daughter.

You may also want to buy her new doll's clothing. There's a lot of barbie clothes that you can buy online or in the mall. Locally or imported made. If you are creative and know how to sew. You may also want to sew a simple barbie doll dresses for your little one.

Good idea.  yeah, I saw a lot last time, in the market but I  forgot to buy because I 'm in hurry. I will be buying some doll's clothing next week I think. I could not sew because of my poor eyesight.

Re: The Barbie Doll's Clothes

Dear Mommies, as the coming holidays, we know that our children will be showered by enormous Christmas presents and the kids really love it especially the opening of the gifts on Christmas day. And we too as parents, are so excited and thrilled what the gifts are in stored for the children.

Please be reminded on the toys that they will be receiving. Please ensure the safetiness of it. Inspect thoroughly the toys that they will be playing.

It's true that a piece of glitter can harm one's eye. Glitter is a smallest bits of plastic formed in a shape of square, rectangles or even hexagons (6 sides) layered with colors and reflective materials. These are being chipped into tiny particles.

Its is so amusing that we see them from these things:
1. Christmas Balls
2. Shoes
3. Bags
4. Clothing
5. Nail Polish
6. Glitter packs to be used on art projects
7. Glue with glitters

But a reminder that when it comes contact with our eyes and kids unconsciously rub it, the sharp edges of these glitters may scratch the cornea (it is a thin, clear part that covers the eye), may cause eye infection called corneal abrasion.

Mommies, if these glitter or any small substances like dust and make-up particles gets in your eyes or your kid's eye, rinse it with water immediately. Don't make it worse like making them rub their eyes. If it still there, see a doctor to check and have him safely remove it.
