Topic: How much Water you Drink Daily?

I used to drink 1-2 liters of water daily. The last time I suffered from UTI (Urinary Track Infection) 3 years ago, I felt too much pain and bleeding when I am peeing. Instead of seeing a doctor, and got absent from work, I just drink a lot of water (Water Therapy). I made continuous drinking a lot for a week. During the third days of my water therapy bleeding was gone and on its fourth days, the pain started to disappear little by little until it is gone. From then, I learned the importance of drinking plenty of water every day. And as a mom today, I make it a habit of giving my daughter plenty of water everyday. You can learn more from here:

Re: How much Water you Drink Daily?

I don't drink enough! But I do try to have a big glass of water the minute I wake up. Apparently starting the day with a glass of water is great for your health. The problem is you should try not drink or eat anything for 45 minutes after that - and by then I'm dying for my first cup of coffee!

Re: How much Water you Drink Daily?

I really don't know how much water intake I have but when I had UTI (Urinary Tract Infection), I knew I was not drinking enough. So what I did, instead of drinking in glass, I placed my water on a bottle so wherever part I am in our home I carried it with me and would not ignore my thirst just because I'm lazy to go to the kitchen wink

Re: How much Water you Drink Daily?

Thanks for the replies moms, I learn something new from mom jo-anne. For us moms who suffered from UTI, I am pretty sure we will not be letting our child experience what we suffered. I am not giving my daughter soda and artificial fruit juices for a drink to avoid and lessen the chance of having UTI. I am preparing calamansi juice for her.

*calamansi cannot be used to cure urinary tract infection but it is packed with ascorbic acid or vitamin C that helps strengthen the immune system of our body, helpful too.

Re: How much Water you Drink Daily?

Just some good to know infos:

- recommended liquid intake is atleast 8-10 glasses per day, 50% of which must be pure water
- acidic drinks are not helpful if you have UTI, we wanted to make your urine more alkaline - cranberry juice is one of the best options
- if you love sugar-y or your diet is high in carbs, you are more likely to develop UTI, excess glucose is removed via the urine and if the environment within the perineal area is sweet, microorganisms are more likely to thrive.

Re: How much Water you Drink Daily?

All living creatures must have water to survive, including us, humans.A person cannot survive for more than a day without it. Because water does a lot of responsibility in our body. Water is required by the cells our own  body to function normally.
The amount of water that we should drink must be half of our body weight.

If you are currently taking up water and it's lesser, gradually increase it.

You will know if you are:
dehydrated: urine: dark yellow; odor: distinct
hydrated: urine: pale yellow; odor: little

I do drink water 3-4L everyday..

Remember that human blood is made up of 95% water content.
Kidneys job is to filter and dispose water most of the time.
We need to keep hydrated for our kidneys to work properly and normally by drinking the right amount of water.

If there will be any excess water in our body, these will be eliminated by peeing. These flushes the bacteria that can cause
UTI (Urinary Tract Infection).
