For babies 6 months below, breastfeeding is one of the best remedy. Because mom's milk have all the vitamins and nutrients that the baby needs including antibodies that fights cold and viruses.

For babies 6 months and above, I used to make lemon juice with honey. 

If the nose is stuffy, you can drop a saline water on to his nose. 

Also you may give them quick warm bath it will loosen the mucus.

When your child gets sick try to treat him by using maximum natural treatment. Take medicine as the last solution.  For my son I use green tea. I give him maximum fluids and restrict the mucus producing foods.

I'm not sure but I've read somewhere that it is no safe for babies to have honey until she/he is one year old. I guess plenty of fluids will help a lot.
